Fiji Swimming is proud to announce our final event for the 2018 Short Course season – the 2018 Fiji Swimming Short Course Age Group Nationals, hosted at the Damodar City Aquatic Center.

There are a total of 14 clubs including Fiji’s 9 local clubs, and 5 visiting teams.

Fiji local clubs:

  1. Babale Swim Club
  2. Barracudas Swim Club
  3. Dolphins Swimming Club
  4. Finis Race Club
  5. Great White Sharks
  6. Mako Swim Club
  7. Orca Swim Club
  8. Seals Swimming Club
  9. Tritons Swimming Club

Visiting clubs:

  1. Aqua Rosa Swim Club (Australia)
  2. Hakula Swim Club (Tonga)
  3. Malolo Swim Club (Tonga)
  4. Tanifa o Le Vai Swim Club (Samoa)

The Nationals are going to showcase 313 swimmers across the 14 teams, competing over 3 days of competition.

The meet begins tomorrow, Friday, September 28 through to Sunday September 30. Between July and September, the swimming clubs have been actively participating in the recent 3 Grand Prix meets that make up the Grand Prix series.

From the 10 & Under division all the way up to the 17 & Over Open grade, swimmers at this competition need to have met a qualifying time (QT) in order to secure themselves a spot to compete.

We will be seeing the best of Fiji’s swimmers across the country coming to battle it out, to finish their 2018 season off with personal bests, and even eyeing age group and open records.

Defending champions, the Barracudas Swim Club are coming into this year’s Short Course Nationals with the biggest team number totaling 84 swimmers. They will be aiming to defend their title, against other clubs from around Fiji who have also been equally and aggressively training for this meet.

We invite you all to join us at the Damodar City Aquatic Center in Laucala Bay to celebrate this big event.
