Fiji Swimming in partnership with AUSAID’s Pacific Sports Partnership Program held an Aqua Fitness Instructor Qualification Workshop at the Damodar Aquatic Centre from the 25th through till the 27th of September.
The three day workshop was facilitated by Julie Stevens and Claire Barker-Hemings of the Australian registered training organization, Active Training based in Adelaide.
Owner of Active Training, Stevens said that their organization specializes in fitness, first aid and Aquatics with more emphasis on the latter.
“The workshop was a blend of theory and practical. After the final day, each participant has about a week on their own doing the theory bit; they get assessed accordingly and awarded with their qualification upon completion”
In attendance were 4 staff from Kokomo Resort as they were looking to set up there Aqua Fitness at the resort as well as 2 of Fiji Swimming’s officials.
