FIJI SWIMMING IN BUDAPEST FOR THE 7TH FINA WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

Fiji Swimming is proud to announce that today, a team of 4 swimmers and 1 Coach/Team Manager left Nadi this morning for Budapest, Hungary. The team of five has been training hard and honored to attend and compete at an event hosted by FINA and the Hungarian Swimming Association, who are together hosting FINA affiliated National Federations like ours, to the 7th FINA World Junior Championships.

The team made up of swimmers: Temafa Yalimaiwai, Rosemarie Rova, Jodie-Ana Puamau, Hansel McCaig travel under the direction and supervision of Coach Mrs Rosemary Rova, who will also be serving in a Team Manager capacity. The team were all present at the Short Course Grand Prix 1 held over the weekend at the Nadi Sports Club. Results from the weekend show the athletes on track, and after four of the five returning so soon from Apia, the challenge is set for these athletes to improve on their outstanding results from the Pacific Games. They have been preparing since before leaving for Apia, and look on track to setting some personal improvements, and getting Fiji to better their rankings at this world stage where many the best juniors from around the world will be coming together to race, in this week long competition

The team left Nadi this morning for the competition earmarked to start on August 20th to the 25th. After the recent FINA Worlds came to an end in Gwangju Korea, the Swimming community around the world is now watching the FINA World Masters which will conclude in time for these FINA Junior World Championships to kick off.
