PREPARATIONS ON TRACK, SAYS SWIMMING BOSS

Fiji Swimming will announce their 38 member team for the 2018 Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championships in Nadi tomorrow.

This was confirmed yesterday by Fiji Swimming general manager, David Dugu who said that the naming of the squad will take place during the Short Course Grand Prix Round II competition.

The 2018 Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championships will be from August 23rd-27th at the Damodar Aquatic Centre in Suva.

Dugu said that the competition currently has 10 countries registered to compete over the four days of competition.

“The opening ceremony is marked for the evening of Wednesday, August 22nd”

The event will see more than 250 athletes battling it out in the water over the course of the competition. There will be a total of 35 events over the duration of the competition which will see some of the world’s very best junior swimmers taking part.

“The preparation plans by the organizing committee are on track and they believe that the competition will see some of the world’s very best junior swimmers taking part”

Dugu also mentioned that the general public should not miss such an event especially being held in our very own home country.

Dugu encouraged the supporters around the country to come down in numbers to support our national team as well as to witness such an international event.
